A Shared Vision
Ten years ago, the Global Alliance for Maternal Mental Health (GAMMH) was officially launched at the 2016 Marcé Conference in Melbourne. This week, we are proud to return to reflect and celebrate.
Our work centers on the belief that maternal mental health cannot be achieved by a single actor and that alliances are powerful tools for this collaborative action.
This belief resonates with the Marcé Conference theme Ubuntu: Umuntu Ngumuntu Ngabantu which means I am Because We Are. The Ubuntu philosophy uplifts humanity through collective responsibility and social justice. It is a reminder that we need to take a stand for the millions of mothers, babies, and families worldwide who do not have access to the mental health care that they deserve.
This shared vision is why we are proud to present a symposium at this year's conference. We look forward to sharing our experiences and learning from maternal mental health champions from all corners of the world.

Collective Advocacy for Large Scale Impact: Global and National Alliances
Our symposium showcases the potential for perinatal mental health alliances to drive lasting change at the national, regional, and global level. For the past ten years, the Global Alliance has brought like-minded organisations together for collective learning, inspiration, and alliance building. Join us for an expert discussion that highlights the role of economic evidence in policy decision making and explores global and African experiences.
