Turkish Maternal Mental Health Awareness Association

The Turkish Maternal Mental Health Awareness Association works to raise awareness about the critical importance of maternal mental health, advocate for accessible and high-quality services, and improve the overall quality of life for mothers and their families. By focusing on this vital period, the Alliance addresses the far-reaching impacts of perinatal mental health on mothers, babies, fathers, families, and society at large.

Through an application-based referral system, psychological support services have been provided to many mothers in need. These efforts continue to expand, ensuring that appropriate care and guidance are available to all who require it.

Since its inception, the Alliance has actively participated in both national and international awareness campaigns during World Maternal Mental Health Month each May. In addition to expert-led presentations and educational initiatives, the platform creates space for mothers and fathers with lived experience of perinatal mental health challenges to share their personal stories—fostering empathy, understanding, and community.

As volunteer members and Turkish representatives of Postpartum Support International (PSI), Prof. Nazan Aydin and Beyza Nur Eksi also provide regional support to Turkish-speaking mothers living abroad. In collaboration with Prof. Ian Brockington, they offer guidance to those seeking help with bonding and attachment disorders.
